colleagues and making new friends at
this informal reception hosted by Portland Taiko
family. The event will be held at the Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center, Portland's
window to Japanese American history.
Join us immediately following for the
MAX Moonlight Tour.

Share conversation with fellow taiko players over lunch. Bento box lunches
are available for $7 and may be ordered with your registration; salmon,

MAX Moonlight Tour
8:00pm Friday
This guided tour begins at the Oregon
Nikkei Legacy Center
in Nihonmachi, historic Japantown. From there we will visit the Japanese-American
Historic Plaza then ride MAX
to the Expo
Center to take in the sites and sounds of Valerie Otani's tribute to
the Japanese-Americans who made the Portland Assembly Center their home
during the WWII internment. This tour is free thanks to TriMet's generous
support. Please RSVP with your registration.

Witness the debut of Masato Baba's composition for the George T. Shoji Commission.
You won't want to miss the show when One World Taiko of Seattle, Uzume Taiko
from Vancouver, BC and Portland Taiko come together for the first time.
Renowned taiko artists, Kenny Endo, Russel Baba, Jeanne Mercer, and Masato
Baba will also join the stage to make this performance a night to remember.

Connect with taiko communities far and wide at this showcase spotlighting
the strength and diversity of our region. Taiko groups from Idaho, Oregon,
Washington and British Columbia converge in Portland to share the stage
at this family event. Apply
