After my first Portland Taiko workshop in 2001, I was instantly addicted to the power of the drum and eventually became a performer in 2004. Highlights since then include the group’s trips to Hawaii and Japan. I enjoy the family spirit within Portland Taiko, learning the early roots of Portland Taiko’s history, and exploring new and complicated pieces.

I recently retired from 36 years of teaching special education and I look forward to being more involved with Portland Taiko — in addition to traveling, volunteering and loafing on the couch. My husband Rob is an huge PT supporter, and our kids are growing and flying the coop.
