Performance Prep Class for Student Community Group
DESCRIPTION
A performance prep class for Portland Taiko’s Student Community Group. Anyone who has taken our advanced class in the last 12 months is eligible to join the class and group. This class will be taught by Portland Taiko and will prepare the group to perform at Obonfest at the Oregon Buddhist Temple on August 1 and the Nikkei Picnic at Oaks Park on August 16.
The class meets four times:
Fridays July 10 & 17 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Wednesdays Aug 5 & 12 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm
All classes are held in person at the Oregon Buddhist Temple (3720 SE 34th Avenue).
PREREQUISITE
Advanced class with Portland Taiko in the past 12 months or permission from instructor.
COST
$160 + ticketing fee

Intermediate Taiko — Series Class
DESCRIPTION
NOTE: After our Spring Session ends, this class will be on hiatus until mid-September
Improve your form, timing and other taiko skills weekly on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Please plan to attend all class sessions.
All classes are held in person at the Oregon Buddhist Temple (3720 SE 34th Avenue).
PREREQUISITE
Completion of at least one Beginning Class series with Portland Taiko or permission from instructor.
COST
$140 + ticketing fee

Advanced Taiko — Series Class
DESCRIPTION

Practice ensemble playing, soloing and learn more complex taiko pieces Wednesdays from 7:15 – 9:00 pm. Please plan to attend all classes sessions. All classes are held in person at the Oregon Buddhist Temple (3720 SE 34th Avenue).
PREREQUISITE
Previous enrollment in an Advanced class with Portland Taiko or permission from instructor.
COST
$245 + ticketing fee
