Many people are surprised to learn our performing corps is 100% volunteer. Because our team donates their time to share the joy of taiko, your donation will help pay our rent, maintain our drums, provide scholarships to students and cover other essential costs.

Below few examples of what different donation amounts could cover. We also have some great donor benefits.

  • Taiko 101 scholarship — $50 per student

  • Our monthly phone bill — $100

  • A full tank of gas for our van — $150

  • New performer costume — $250

  • Drum head replacement — $500

Portland Taiko is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and our our tax ID is 93-1309882.

  • Tax payers who don’t itemize can make charitable donations and reduce their taxable income. Individuals can deduct up to $1,000 and married couples can deducte up to $2,000.

  • We are also eligible for distributions from DAFs (Donor-Advised Funds) and QCDs (Qualified Charitable Distributions) and connected with Fidelity Charitable

  • Portland Taiko is also an approved charity for the Oregon Employees Charitable Fund Drive. Our Charity Code is 4117.
